Traditional cumbersome cable assembly connections are being replaced by simple, compact, reliable "board-to-board" coaxial connector connections that can carry more than 100W of RF signal power at the same time.

Now more and more RF and structural design engineers are becoming more familiar with the board-to-board connectors, and more and more designs are using board-to-board connector connections, which makes designers more and more cost considerations, the market needs to design simpler, lower-cost board-to-board connector solutions.

Connector size continues to get smaller brings in the mechanical design challenges in two main areas: First, compared to large size connectors, small size connectors are more difficult to match the alignment. Second, the mechanical strength of the small size connector is low, such as improper use is more likely to damage. Generally large connectors can withstand the use of greater mechanical force in the fit without damage, but small connectors need to be more accurate in the fit.
